I only translate into German, my native language. There is an innate instinct, a feel for exactly which word to use in which context, that we can only ever have with a language we were exposed to from birth.
Ich arbeite ausschließlich in die
deutsche Sprache, meine Muttersprache. Ein Gespür für das richtige Wort an der richtigen Stelle hat man nur in einer Sprache, in der man „barfuß läuft“.

I specialise in translations related to finance/economics and law because a high-quality translation requires a good command of the subject matter and the specialist jargon used in a particular field.
The clearer the brief for a project from the outset, the fewer adjustments will be needed later on down the line.
Especially when larger projects are involved, a brief meeting to coordinate terminology and other requirements before the project kicks off can save a lot of time and hassle.
Post-edited AI translations might be sufficient for some purposes and out of the question for others.
It is worth exploring where each individual translation job lies on this spectrum, depending on your specific requirements.
